The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Matthias Büssinger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute, one of Freestylers:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Freestylers. In the 15th minute USA were awarded a corner. Cassius Byrne went to the cornerflag to take it. USA's Cassius Byrne was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Yuan Lei Jing in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Zach Harrison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cassius Byrne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Yuan Lei Jing made a huge save. Yuan Lei Jing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 33rd minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yuan Lei Jing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Björn Lachenicht had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that German Evarado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marco Day was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. If Monty Rogers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Freestylers's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Yuan Lei Jing reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mai Qian Guang kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Cassius Byrne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Yuan Lei Jing made a huge save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cassius Byrne stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zach Harrison struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Yuan Lei Jing didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for USA. A nice corner shot did that Cassius Byrne got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Yuan Lei Jing quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 71 minutes into the match, Freestylers's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Yuan Lei Jing reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by USA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Björn Lachenicht was slow to take the kick. During this time Freestylers's players had a chance to rest. USA's Marco Day proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save USA from getting a goal against them. Yuan Lei Jing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After having played for 83 minutes, Edward Mcdonald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. USA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Mcdonald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 90 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when USA's Sam Campbell fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. USA made a substitution. Marco Baker replaced Edward Mcdonald. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Leo Pietro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Leo Pietro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marco Day was a little too slow when Leo Pietro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 95th minute. The score was now 1-1. USA were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
