Steve De Wilde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Pan Jian Yong came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A throw-in in the 17th minute of the game was made by Camilo Gisbert with Luis Andino as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 19th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Lions United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Pan Jian Yong got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 2-0. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve De Wilde having to interfere. Lions United's Gao Cheng Yun was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 37th minute of the game Camilo Gisbert made a throw-in which Luis Andino played forward. Lions United's Steve De Wilde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of play. Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pan Jian Yong went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pan Jian Yong in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Steve De Wilde made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pan Jian Yong in the 69th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. Lions United's Steve De Wilde proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Lions United from getting a goal against them. In the 73rd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Steve De Wilde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 77th minute of the match. Pan Jian Yong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 83rd minute Pan Jian Yong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peng De Guang kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Pan Jian Yong's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. The Lions United support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
