The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ricardo Zorita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sven-Arne Lindgren went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Simon Larsson came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by El Salvador's Moises Fernandino. But to his dismay, Moises Fernandino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Moises Fernandino scored 2-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Simon Larsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Simon Larsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Moises Fernandino in the 16th minute. Moises Fernandinos short, quick shot in the 17thth minute got Simon Larsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Valentino Ferrant charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valentino Ferrant the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Valentino Ferrant hit a great ball. In the 26th minute, Moises Fernandino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 28 minutes into the game, Mateo Leguizamo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jesus Lärjungar the free kick. Moises Fernandino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Simon Larsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Jesus Lärjungar defense, Moises Fernandino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Simon Larsson. The Jesus Lärjungar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Simon Larsson should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Per-Erik Alström during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 44 played minutes Jesus Lärjungar got a freekick which was hit by Per-Erik Alström. After a defensive mix-up in Jesus Lärjungar's zone, Moises Fernandino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simon Larsson came out of the goal and Moises Fernandino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The wind increased when Edgar Stenberg made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Leonard Ekberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jesus Lärjungar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Salvador the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Leonard Ekberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Simon Larsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moises Fernandino in the 53rd minute of the match. Jesus Lärjungar's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 64th minute of the game, when Leonard Ekberg after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of El Salvador's goal. Leonard Ekberg was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. After having played for 68 minutes, Moises Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Salvador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Fernandino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Stenberg came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgar Stenberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 80 minutes, Sven-Arne Lindgren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jesus Lärjungar and the El Salvador players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Jesus Lärjungar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven-Arne Lindgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valentino Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. If Moises Fernandino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. El Salvador's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
