Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo Weather in the 7th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ham Kaas during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ham Kaas hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 19th match minute, Pannekoeken was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugon Wolicki to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Elbert Haar. Elbert Haar yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. After having played for 24 minutes, Haroldo Weather managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pannekoeken's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Weather was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 26th minute of play forced Pannekoeken's goalkeeper Elbert Haar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26thth minute of the game Agustín Saelices who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pannekoeken's Elbert Haar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Weather in the 29th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Haroldo Weather came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Pannekoeken's Elbert Haar got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 38th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Elbert Haar was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Elbert Haar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 53 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 54 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elbert Haar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Julio Vera was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Haroldo Weather showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 58 minute of play. In the 62nd minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elbert Haar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pannekoeken's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Luis Andino made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Pannekoeken's Elbert Haar managed to reach the ball for a save. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Haroldo Weather scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 3-3. Elbert Haar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After some careless play in the Pannekoeken defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elbert Haar. The Pannekoeken fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elbert Haar should have stopped the shot. After 94 played minutes Pannekoeken got a freekick which was hit by Otto Hovenkamp. There was no doubt that Ecuador were the better team. Ecuador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
