Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Neto in the 20th minute of play. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind MLP's goalkeeper Valentim Magalhães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Lautaro Mancebo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Valentim Magalhães. That made the score 1-0 in the 26 minute of play. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramiro Malta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute, Lautaro Mancebo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Valentim Magalhães. The goal made the score 3-0. Valentim Magalhães made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. Luca Zorita's late challenge caught a MLP's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luca Zorita helped the player get up and apologised. Luca Zorita hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute of the match 温迪坤 sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dante Lacasa skillfully saved the ball. In the 48th minute, Luca Zorita fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Valentim Magalhães, passed just outside the right post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by MLP's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Macos Graciani was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Lautaro Mancebo took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valentim Magalhães. Valentim Magalhães dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. In the 58th minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 63 minutes into the match, MLP's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Valentim Magalhães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Neto came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the MLP defense, Lautaro Mancebo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valentim Magalhães. The MLP fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valentim Magalhães should have stopped the shot. Lautaro Mancebo might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valentim Magalhães. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Mancebo ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 77th minute of play forced MLP's goalkeeper Valentim Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentim Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valentim Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 86th minute of the match. In the 87th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. MLP's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. MLP's Valentim Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 91st minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Mexico fully deserved thier win.
