Turleque's goalkeeper Fortunato Orbiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fortunato Orbiz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Mel Pais sent off a good shot on target. In the 12th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fortunato Orbiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fortunato Orbiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's Luis Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 22 played minutes C.D. Turleque got a freekick which was hit by Aad Ak. 22 minutes into the match, C.D. Turleque's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Fortunato Orbiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mel Pais sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Ecuador booed when C.D. Turleque was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Volodya kalúpchiyski didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 52nd minute, but Fortunato Orbiz got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving C.D. Turleque hanging dry this time. In the 54th match minute, C.D. Turleque was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sergiu Socoriceanu to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute Franz Nötzel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franz Nötzel in the 86th minute of the match. Fortunato Orbiz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Fortunato Orbiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than C.D. Turleque throughout the match.
