Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 12th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. Warta Czestochowa's Ksawery Bienienda got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wlodzimierz Smolarek during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Warta Czestochowa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wlodzimierz Smolarek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marek Labus. Warta Czestochowa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Marek Labus stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Warta Czestochowa's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marek Labus quite easily take care of the ball. Marek Labus didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Marek Labus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 24th minute of the match. Marek Labus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute. At last the ball reached Luis Andino at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Warta Czestochowa. 0-2. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marek Labus in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ludomir Gall in the 40th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marek Labus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marek Labus read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marek Labus having to interfere. Warta Czestochowa's Jo Pryor was substituted for Dobromir Marosz. Warta Czestochowa's Miromir Miodek was substituted for Patryk Andryszyn. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Marek Labus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wlodzimierz Smolarek was shown his second yellow card after 53 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Wlodzimierz Smolarek kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Ecuador's Felix Montes suffered a sore thigh after 58 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Ludomir Gall charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ludomir Gall the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ludomir Gall kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Marek Labus made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 60th minute. Marek Labus made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. After 63 minutes Warta Czestochowa's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marek Labus quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Marek Labus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 67th minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marek Labus. The goal made the score 0-3. Warta Czestochowa made a substitution. Celestino Aznar replaced Ksawery Bienienda. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Marek Labus in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Warta Czestochowa's Marek Labus proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Warta Czestochowa from getting a goal against them. In the 72nd minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marek Labus. Marek Labus yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marek Labus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 81st minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marek Labus was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. After a defensive mix-up in Warta Czestochowa's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marek Labus came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Marek Labus made a huge save. In the 96th minute, Max Alvarado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
