The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in C.A. GUAYACO's zone, Ciro Donostia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Mejia came out of the goal and Ciro Donostia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Teobaldo Columbo struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Hugo Mejia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for • REGINA •. Hugo Mejia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Donostia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teobaldo Columbo in the 18th minute of play forced C.A. GUAYACO's goalkeeper Hugo Mejia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raul Gartxot charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raul Gartxot the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 20 played minutes • REGINA • got a freekick which was hit by Raul Gartxot. Victoriano Bernad lost his temper 22 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. A collision led to • REGINA • getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Victoriano Bernad hit a great ball. In the 24th minute, Tomás Vedillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yader Aramberri was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 25th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Hugo Mejia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Camilo Txema, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ciro Donostia in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hugo Mejia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Camilo Txema fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Mejia having to interfere. Hugo Mejia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciro Donostia in the 41st minute of play. After some careless play in the • REGINA • defense, German Malet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gerardo Otoniel. The • REGINA • fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gerardo Otoniel should have stopped the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Víctor Urioste was the one to do the kick off. With his leg Hugo Mejia managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when • REGINA •'s Ciro Donostia fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Camilo Txema had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 58 played minutes C.A. GUAYACO got a freekick which was hit by Xacintu Monterrey. After 59 minutes, Xacintu Monterrey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.A. GUAYACO and the • REGINA • players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th match minute, C.A. GUAYACO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xacintu Monterrey to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the game, Bonifacio Orlandus was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. • REGINA •'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A. GUAYACO the free kick. Ciro Donostias short, quick shot in the 68thth minute got Hugo Mejia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 76th play minute Ciro Donostia came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Hugo Mejia. 1-1. When Rey Villazan fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.A. GUAYACO's protests and gave Rey Villazan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 79th minute, Rey Villazan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of • REGINA • booed when C.A. GUAYACO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xacintu Monterrey didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rd minute Yader Aramberri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerardo Otoniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of C.A. GUAYACO booed when • REGINA • was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melchor Domenec didn't get a good kick on the ball. When • REGINA •'s Ciro Donostia in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye C.A. GUAYACO's goalie prevented a goal. In the 90thth minute of the game Ciro Donostia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A. GUAYACO's Hugo Mejia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gerardo Otoniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from German Malet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute, German Malet made a precise shot to the right of Gerardo Otoniel. • REGINA •'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. • REGINA •'s supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because C.A. GUAYACO had won, even though • REGINA • had held more of the ball.
