Gale Laliberté could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Josías Ossa made a huge save. Sandy Hendrix kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Varennes's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Daughters came free, but Brice Leach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brice Leach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Hernández in the 34th minute of play. After 36 minutes, Carlos Albis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AFC Richmond and the Varennes players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 37 minutes, Ellsworth Lindsay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varennes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ellsworth Lindsay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 39th minute, Felipe Hernández got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. AFC Richmond's Felipe Hernández got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Varennes made a substitution. Adolphe Murdock replaced Brad Elliott. AFC Richmond's Domenico Macuer was substituted for Mariano Daughters. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lee Coffman to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Varennes's Lee Coffman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Josías Ossa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Josías Ossa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ellsworth Lindsay in the 58th minute of the match. In the 59th minute, Remicio Vos de Vos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gale Laliberté struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Josías Ossa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varennes. After some careless play in the AFC Richmond defense, Lee Coffman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Josías Ossa. The AFC Richmond fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Josías Ossa should have stopped the shot. 69 minutes into the match, AFC Richmond's goal looked a bit too open when Randell McCullough came free, but Josías Ossa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lee Coffman in the 87th minute of play forced AFC Richmond's goalkeeper Josías Ossa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ellsworth Lindsay during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Varennes fully deserved thier win.
