In the 16thth minute of the game Fırat Çakıroğlu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AFC Richmond's Próspero Friederichs was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 17th minute, Gustavo Martiarena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Próspero Friederichs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fırat Çakıroğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Fırat Çakıroğlu notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of AFC Richmond's Próspero Friederichs. One of AFC Richmond:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Senator S.A.K:s goal. Alim Eslem shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Fırat Çakıroğlu might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Próspero Friederichs. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fırat Çakıroğlu ran back to his position shaking his head. Próspero Friederichs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fırat Çakıroğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Enrique Arostegui was the one to do the kick off. Próspero Friederichs made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Fırat Çakıroğlu sent off a good shot on target. Fırat Çakıroğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Próspero Friederichs having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Senator S.A.K's Fazıl Özgeer got a free kick in the 58th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fırat Çakıroğlu in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Próspero Friederichs saved AFC Richmond from getting behind. AFC Richmond made a substitution. Aníbal Marraccini replaced Fernando Tolhauzsen. After 72 minutes AFC Richmond's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alim Eslem who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of AFC Richmond's goalie and right to Ziemowit Mis. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. AFC Richmond's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 75th minute, Gustavo Martiarena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fırat Çakıroğlu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fırat Çakıroğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fırat Çakıroğlu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Próspero Friederichs made a huge save. Aytekin Köksan kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After 82 minutes, Gustavo Martiarena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AFC Richmond and the Senator S.A.K players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 82nd match minute, AFC Richmond was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Martiarena to maneuver through the defense.
