An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of play forced ADCR Loreto United FC's goalkeeper Vladimiro Matai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sálvio Ribeiro in the 12th minute of play. Sálvio Ribeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. In the 32nd minute Sálvio Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfredo Curado in the 33rd minute. Frederico Torcato's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frederico Torcato helped the player get up and apologised. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sálvio Ribeiro was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Curado in the 53rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ADCR Loreto United FC's Vladimiro Matai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 79th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when ADCR Loreto United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederico Torcato didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vladimiro Matai having to make a save. Rubim Freitas hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. ADCR Loreto United FC's Vladimiro Matai proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save ADCR Loreto United FC from getting a goal against them. The ADCR Loreto United FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
