In the 3rd minute Frank Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henning Sæmer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kristóf Földes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Henning Sæmer came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Dogelo's Frank Catarinense. But to his dismay, Frank Catarinense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 12th minute Kristóf Földes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henning Sæmer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 13 minutes of play, Dogelo's Frank Catarinense made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Henning Sæmer was left in no man's land by his defense there! Frank Catarinense might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henning Sæmer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Catarinense ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Dogelo booed when FC Nordsjælland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Nygren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henning Sæmer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Catarinense in the 23rd minute of play. Henning Sæmer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kristóf Földes in the 24th minute of the match. Frank Catarinense might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henning Sæmer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Catarinense ran back to his position shaking his head. Henning Sæmer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Catarinense in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th match minute, FC Nordsjælland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Svensson to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in FC Nordsjælland's zone, Frank Catarinense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henning Sæmer came out of the goal and Frank Catarinense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frank Catarinense struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Henning Sæmer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dogelo. 38 minutes into the match, FC Nordsjælland's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Catarinense came free, but Henning Sæmer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 41 played minutes Dogelo got a freekick which was hit by Justino Dabi. FC Nordsjælland's Henning Sæmer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristóf Földes in the 45th minute of play. Manúel Bento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dimitar Berbatov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ibrahim Osman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Frank Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dogelo made a substitution. Oliverios Marcilla replaced Frank Catarinense. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Nordsjælland's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ahmet Danış Garipbaş was slow to take the kick. During this time Dogelo's players had a chance to rest. Dogelo's Ahmet Danış Garipbaş was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Henning Sæmer in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 65 played minutes Ahmet Danış Garipbaş shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for FC Nordsjælland's Henning Sæmer to catch but Ahmet Danış Garipbaş was lucky. It became 0-4 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. 68 minutes into the match, Dogelo's goal looked a bit too open when Dimitar Berbatov came free, but Manúel Bento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliverios Marcilla in the 70th minute of play forced FC Nordsjælland's goalkeeper Henning Sæmer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Svensson hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Oliverios Marcilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 84 minutes into the match, Dogelo's Oliverios Marcilla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Henning Sæmer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dogelo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ahmet Danış Garipbaş in the 85th minute. The corner led Dogelo's Lewis van Dijk to a score. 0-5 in the 86th minute. Henning Sæmer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oliverios Marcilla in the 91st minute. Oliverios Marcilla scored 0-7 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Henning Sæmer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oliverios Marcilla in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henning Sæmer saved FC Nordsjælland from getting behind.
