After 43 played minutes AVAÍ F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Poveda. In the 43rd minute, Urki Parga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Zuriko Lagala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Poveda in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The referee ignored Inter de Guayaquil FC's protests and gave Santiago Casanande a yellow card for diving instead. 86 minutes into the match, Mateus Alves dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Zuriko Lagala, 0-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mateus Alves in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zuriko Lagala prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marcos Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vera Castro in the 94th minute of the match. When the match was over AVAÍ F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Inter de Guayaquil FC throughout the match.
