The Berisso Dortmund fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Baltasar Mercurio should have stopped the shot. Berisso Dortmund's defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when Ismael Frances scored to the left of an out of position Baltasar Mercurio, making the score, 2-0. Darwin Núñez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Baltasar Mercurio made a huge save. In the 16th minute, Alonzo Mede hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roland Banaszak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baltasar Mercurio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Merengue FC's zone, Alonzo Mede stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mateo Llorienzo came out of the goal and Alonzo Mede tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 21 minutes into the game, Everardo Rayman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Berisso Dortmund's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merengue FC the free kick. A collision led to Berisso Dortmund getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Everardo Rayman hit a great ball. Baltasar Mercurio made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Domingo Jago sent off a good shot on target. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Berisso Dortmund's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edelmiro Quintyn was slow to take the kick. During this time Merengue FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Darwin Núñez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Berisso Dortmund's Baltasar Mercurio did a great save. The crowd rose to their feet as Merengue FC's Roland Banaszak slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Baltasar Mercurio. That made the score 3-0 after 25 minutes of play. After 30 minutes, Alonzo Mede mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Berisso Dortmund and the Merengue FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th match minute, Berisso Dortmund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alonzo Mede to maneuver through the defense. If Eustacio Gilabert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baltasar Mercurio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darwin Núñez in the 34th minute of the match. In the 34th play minute Darwin Núñez came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Baltasar Mercurio. 4-0. Roland Banaszak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Baltasar Mercurio made a huge save. Baltasar Mercurio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Darwin Núñez in the 37th minute. Roland Banaszak received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Baltasar Mercurio came out and tried to block the shot, but Roland Banaszak slotted it home off the left post making it 5-0 in the 38th minute. Baltasar Mercurio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Darwin Núñez's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. In the 42nd match minute, Berisso Dortmund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Everardo Rayman to maneuver through the defense. After 46 minutes, Darwin Núñez made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. Berisso Dortmund's Baltasar Mercurio tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

After 54 minutes, Raul Vermudo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Berisso Dortmund and the Merengue FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Merengue FC booed when Berisso Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Vermudo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Darwin Núñez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Baltasar Mercurio. Berisso Dortmund's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Darwin Núñez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. Luciano Enekoitz hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingo Jago in the 79th minute of play forced Berisso Dortmund's goalkeeper Baltasar Mercurio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baltasar Mercurio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Frances, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. The audience was convinced that Ismael Frances's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baltasar Mercurio was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. In the 81st minute, Eustacio Gilabert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Baltasar Mercurio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingo Jago in the 84th minute of play.
