If Fernando Tolhauzsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute of the match Manchester United got a corner. AFC Richmond's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Erwin-Alexander Verduyckt ran over to the corner to take the kick. Arkın Taşboğa came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Manchester United's Ivan Copil. But to his dismay, Ivan Copil quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Spyros Karastamatis in the 37th minute of play forced AFC Richmond's goalkeeper Arkın Taşboğa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Erwin-Alexander Verduyckt came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Manchester United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erwin-Alexander Verduyckt couldn't finish the play. In the 40th minute Spyros Karastamatis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arkın Taşboğa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 42 played minutes AFC Richmond got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Tolhauzsen. Erwin-Alexander Verduyckt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arkın Taşboğa having to interfere.

When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Kosmas Simertzidis took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Arkın Taşboğa to make any attempt to save it. 54 minutes into the game, Ivan Copil lined in a short shot 0-4 behind a frustrated Arkın Taşboğa. The supporters of AFC Richmond booed when Manchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pantelis Papaiakovou didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, AFC Richmond's Arkın Taşboğa got control of the ball when Erwin-Alexander Verduyckt tried to sneak it across the goal line. 76 minutes had been played when some careless play by AFC Richmond's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Erwin-Alexander Verduyckt was slow to take the kick. During this time Manchester United's players had a chance to rest. Manchester United played a much better game than AFC Richmond and deserved their victory. The AFC Richmond players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
