Acilia Town's Ciro Moscatelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 26th minute of play forced Acilia Town's goalkeeper Ciro Moscatelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes had been played when some careless play by Acilia Town's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Acilia Town made a substitution. Alvaro Recoba replaced Diego Tozzi. The wind increased when Scofield Vinciguerra made the kick off in the second half. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 69th minute. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Ciro Moscatelli despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ciro Moscatelli didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luca Zorita went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Facundo Cadaval kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Lautaro Mancebo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ciro Moscatelli having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 77th minute of play forced Acilia Town's goalkeeper Ciro Moscatelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 81 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Mancebo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Acilia Town getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Franco Ucci hit a great ball. Facundo Cadaval fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Moscatelli having to interfere. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Scofield Vinciguerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Macos Graciani kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. When Ovidiu Ciulei fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Acilia Town's protests and gave Ovidiu Ciulei a yellow card for diving instead. After 94 played minutes Acilia Town got a freekick which was hit by Ovidiu Ciulei. In the 98th minute, Scofield Vinciguerra reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dante Lacasa. The goal made the score 2-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Mexico fully deserved thier win.
