Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cassius Byrne started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Huub Gerrits in the 5th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Monty Rogers scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mike Zoetmulder, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mike Zoetmulder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 11th minute of the match. In the 13th minute Huub Gerrits shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mike Zoetmulder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Mike Zoetmulder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 15th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Perivaldo Eger in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Day saved USA from getting behind. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by USA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fu Peng Feng was slow to take the kick. During this time De Pelgrims's players had a chance to rest. Mike Zoetmulder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cassius Byrne in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Perivaldo Eger in the 21st minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mike Zoetmulder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 24th minute of play. Monty Rogers scored 0-2 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mike Zoetmulder, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. USA's Marco Day proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save USA from getting a goal against them. Cassius Byrne's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mike Zoetmulder read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. In the 39th minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Zoetmulder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mathias de Ruijter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Marco Day made a huge save. De Pelgrims were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after USA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fu Peng Feng took the corner. The De Pelgrims players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. USA were winning 0-3.

The wind increased when Perivaldo Eger made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 50th minute of play forced De Pelgrims's goalkeeper Mike Zoetmulder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd minute Perivaldo Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cassius Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Perivaldo Eger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathias de Ruijter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cassius Byrne in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mike Zoetmulder saved De Pelgrims from getting behind. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. In the 69th minute of the match USA got a corner. De Pelgrims's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Monty Rogers ran over to the corner to take the kick. USA's Diego Bradley was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mike Zoetmulder in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Ginneken, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Mike Zoetmulder made an important save on a dangerous shot by Monty Rogers in the 76th minute. USA's Marco Baker was substituted for Edward Mcdonald. After some careless play in the USA defense, Perivaldo Eger kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marco Day. The USA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Day should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Perivaldo Eger in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Day prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mike Zoetmulder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sam Campbell, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Mike Zoetmulder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sam Campbell in the 93rd minute of the match.
