In the 29th minute of the match, Tomas Illescas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Birdal Nuratay was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 37 minutes into the game, SARAY A.Ş's Zheng Li Ling nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Demiralp Şömel charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Demiralp Şömel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Venezuela booed when SARAY A.Ş was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Demiralp Şömel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Gürhan Tüzeman scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 0-5. 71 minutes into the game, Gürhan Tüzeman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Gürhan Tüzeman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. In the 80th minute, SARAY A.Ş's Antonello Ragazzoni dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. In the 91st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play.
