Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Klement Harasimowicz in the 36th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Klement Harasimowicz went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. When Carlos Puyol fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MANCHESTER UNITED's protests and gave Carlos Puyol a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to MANCHESTER UNITED getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Carlos Puyol hit a great ball. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play.

Anton Lalchev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 54th minute of play. After having played for 72 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Denko Gervazov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Venezuela booed when MANCHESTER UNITED was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Advíncula didn't get a good kick on the ball. MANCHESTER UNITED's Anton Lalchev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save MANCHESTER UNITED from getting a goal against them. 崔希瑜 hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. 88 minutes into the match, MANCHESTER UNITED's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Anton Lalchev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Illescas in the 91stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Anton Lalchev, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
