Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Taisto Leppänen started the match with the kick off. When Alexander Carballo fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Alexander Carballo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th minute, Fernan Senin made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After 12 played minutes AC Rostock's Fernan Senin stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Benito Sanz stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Costa Rica of the goal. The corner ended in Obbo Ngnoubamdjum almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz did a great save. In the 15th minute, Gideon Heilemann left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AC Rostock fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great ball. Fernan Senin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Fernan Senin slotted it home off the left post making it 5-0 in the 24th minute. Per Klesper took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by AC Rostock's Sebastian Cengiz. But to his dismay, Sebastian Cengiz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Fernan Senin sent off a good shot on target. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Taisto Leppänen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Taisto Leppänen really showed his touch with that goal: 7-0. Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gideon Heilemann in the 47th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 7-0.

If Taisto Leppänen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60th minute Onwuemelie Onwuachi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute, Onwuemelie Onwuachi made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. AC Rostock's Kenneth Schmidt was substituted for Markus Dobinski. An unexpectedly hard shot by Obbo Ngnoubamdjum in the 67th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Cengiz in the 71st minute of play. 74 minutes into the game, Onwuemelie Onwuachi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 10-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by AC Rostock's Gilberto Abancens. But to his dismay, Gilberto Abancens quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 11-0. Alexander Carballo hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Per Klesper took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Noboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Sebastian Cengiz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 12-0. 91 minutes into the match, Sebastian Cengiz notched a goal, 13-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. AC Rostock's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
