The referee ignored C.A.JORGOVAN's protests and gave Valdemar Velasco a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, C.A.JORGOVAN's Valdemar Velasco got a free kick in the 26th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Eustacio Beliran in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Guillermo Fontirroig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Chile booed when C.A.JORGOVAN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Avelino Canal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eustacio Beliran acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 46th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Mariano Lacasa.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariano Lacasa to make the kick off. Eustacio Beliran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 52nd minute of play. C.A.JORGOVAN's Eustacio Beliran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 87th minute of play. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Xavier Figueroa advanced and headed the ball into goal, 4-1 in the 89th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Chile had won after a very even match.
