Wiktor Wolicki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wiktor Wolicki in the 7th minute of the match. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wiktor Wolicki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 24th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. Benito Sanz was a little too slow when Milosz Walczak got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 3-0. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Przemyslaw Hajto took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it. Eugeniusz Marek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Puig in the 34th minute of play. After 37 minutes, Abel Carballo mouthed his way into the referee's book. Lautaro Puig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Eugeniusz Marek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Juan Rubio hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mazur Elk - koniec gry fans cheered their team off the field, for while Costa Rica had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
