The throw-in from László Bagi in the 18th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas. 22 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Patricio Costa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ádám Szatmári narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Primitivo Gorka came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Ödön Végvári sent off a good shot on target. If Gyula Kocsis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. I ll be back's Ödön Végvári got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of I ll be back booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Tomas Illescas sped through I ll be back's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ádám Szatmári.
