The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lech Rosen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 16th minute of play forced KKP Spasione Kocury's goalkeeper Lech Rosen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Mancebo ran back to his position shaking his head. After 35 minutes of play, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lech Rosen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Lautaro Mancebo fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mexico's protests and gave Lautaro Mancebo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Mancebo to maneuver through the defense. After 46 played minutes KKP Spasione Kocury got a freekick which was hit by Herbert Zurawski. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 52nd minute. Luca Zorita was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind KKP Spasione Kocury's goalkeeper Lech Rosen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Lech Rosen in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 56 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Herbert Zurawski came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 59th minute, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lech Rosen. Lech Rosen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Lautaro Mancebo struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Lech Rosen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Lech Rosen made a huge save. Mexico's Luca Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Lech Rosen in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Mexico booed when KKP Spasione Kocury was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beniamin Jakubiak didn't get a good kick on the ball.
