Tomas Illescas started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Club Brugge's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stein Spoelberch came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute 孔磊傲 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stein Spoelberch saved Club Brugge from getting behind. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Club Brugge's Stein Spoelberch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 11th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when King Eken sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling 孔磊傲 in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 孔磊傲 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. A collision led to Club Brugge getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Gunter Mesmaekers hit a great ball. When Alex Chicote fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Alex Chicote a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 29th minute of the game. One of Venezuela:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Club Brugge:s goal. 孔磊傲 walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Club Brugge's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Henning Ekström in the 37th minute. The corner ended in Nickolas Gielens almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Tomas Illescas sped through Club Brugge's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Stein Spoelberch. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by King Eken in the 44th minute. In the 46th minute, 孔磊傲 fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jonathan Ferrant, passed just outside the right post. The Club Brugge players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Venezuela were winning 0-1.

A very good chance. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diederik Temmerman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 孔磊傲 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stein Spoelberch having to interfere. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stein Spoelberch came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 77th minute, Patricio Costa fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Stein Spoelberch, passed just outside the right post. In the 78th match minute, Club Brugge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brent Nelleboedske to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 孔磊傲 in the 81st minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 孔磊傲 in the 82nd minute of play. The throw-in from Gunter Mesmaekers in the 87th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas. After 89 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Stein Spoelberch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Although Club Brugge had been in control for most of the match, Venezuela still came away with the win.
