Brothers of Mercy's Markus Nyman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 41st minute of play. In the 42ndth minute of the game Håkan Lindgren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Håkan Lindgren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brothers of Mercy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Håkan Lindgren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Håkan Lindgren received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Håkan Lindgren slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 48th minute. Brothers of Mercy made a substitution. Kornél Ács replaced Roger Strömberg. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The wind increased when Håkan Lindgren made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Brothers of Mercy's Markus Nyman got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Markus Nyman in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcin Adamko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Markus Nyman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 84th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Håkan Lindgren in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 91st minute Brothers of Mercy were awarded a corner. 狄亦渊 went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Marcin Adamko heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 93rd minute Patrik Skarkman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Håkan Lindgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. After 96 played minutes Brothers of Mercy got a freekick which was hit by Kornél Ács. Håkan Lindgren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play. Brothers of Mercy's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
