Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Alcadio Rast sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of play forced Barrabases de Victoria's goalkeeper Guntademaro Portillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Omar Freitag charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Omar Freitag the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Barrabases de Victoria getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Omar Freitag hit a great ball. In the 27th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guntademaro Portillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barrabases de Victoria's Guntademaro Portillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 36th minute of play. José Carlos Delgado charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Carlos Delgado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 43 played minutes Barrabases de Victoria got a freekick which was hit by José Carlos Delgado. Luz Palacio took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Guntademaro Portillo. Guntademaro Portillo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luz Palacio to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Guntademaro Portillo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Esteban José Belmar's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Guntademaro Portillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Luz Palacio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guntademaro Portillo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luz Palacio in the 67th minute. In the 69th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Felix Montenegro went to the cornerflag to take it. Guntademaro Portillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 70th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Barrabases de Victoria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Carlos Delgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute, Javiero Velarde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guntademaro Portillo having to interfere. After 80 minutes of play, Ecuador's Luz Palacio made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Guntademaro Portillo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luz Palacio came free with the goalkeeper in the 86th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Guntademaro Portillo could save by the left post. In the 91st minute, Luz Palacio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Guntademaro Portillo. The goal made the score 0-6. Ecuador played a much better game than Barrabases de Victoria and deserved their victory. The Barrabases de Victoria players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
