Through an outstanding action, after 48 minutes, Markus Nyman successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in Brothers of Mercy's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Markus Nyman came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 57th minute of play forced Brothers of Mercy's goalkeeper Markus Nyman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Mexico booed when Brothers of Mercy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Oskar Hjortsberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Brothers of Mercy's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Markus Nyman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christer Valler's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. In the 84th match minute, Brothers of Mercy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Axelsson to maneuver through the defense. Valter Ahlerot's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valter Ahlerot helped the player get up and apologised. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christer Valler in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Håkan Lindgren, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 96 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Dante Lacasa was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar.
