The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Bruno Beldad hit a great ball. After 5 minutes Uruguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Severiano Nel who took care of the corner kick. Inacio F.C.'s Severiano Nel was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Joaquin Gayoso in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Jaime Cazalla hit a great ball. Severiano Nel, 7 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Gilson Ribeiro in the 12 minute of the game. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Inacio F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilson Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maximiliano Escribano might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Oliveira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maximiliano Escribano ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Severiano Nel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joaquin Gayoso. That made the score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. Severiano Nel made a great header on Inacio F.C.'s corner, it was just that Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso managed to reach the ball for a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Maximiliano Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximiliano Escribano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Oliveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Severiano Nel might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Gayoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. After some careless play in the Inacio F.C. defense, Maximiliano Escribano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Oliveira. The Inacio F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Oliveira should have stopped the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Seco in the 56thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of João Oliveira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Uruguay played a much better game than Inacio F.C. and deserved their victory. The Inacio F.C. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
