Procopio Trespalacios showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 25th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Spartans Lodz defense, Alberto Tafalla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Procopio Trespalacios. The Spartans Lodz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Procopio Trespalacios should have stopped the shot. If Iwan Ostrowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Mexico booed when Spartans Lodz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Witold Pryputnicki didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Procopio Trespalacios saved Spartans Lodz from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Joel Gaona put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Procopio Trespalacios. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Felix Luque hit a great ball. Fryderyk Jajecznica's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. If Fryderyk Jajecznica had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Mexico booed when Spartans Lodz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tolek Maziarski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Spartans Lodz's Karol Karp was substituted for Tolek Maziarski. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After having played for 61 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Mancebo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Procopio Trespalacios made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Spartans Lodz's Procopio Trespalacios got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Procopio Trespalacios firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Lautaro Mancebo sped through Spartans Lodz's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Procopio Trespalacios. Leonardo Leoz kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. In the 87th minute Zula Zworski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Procopio Trespalacios threw himself towards the right post 88 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Felix Luque kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. 97 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Zula Zworski came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
