After 35 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Villa. The long shot by 姚铮升 in the 36th minute really tested Lautaro Navarro's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 37 minutes into the match, 严枫平 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 严枫平 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 邱亦寒 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmundo Espiga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
