Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Uruguay's Francisco Seco started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 9th match minute, Piao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinaldo Carrasqueira to maneuver through the defense. Joaquin Gayoso was out of position in the 12 minute of play, and Gaspar Vilas Boas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gaspar Vilas Boas really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 21st minute Gaspar Vilas Boas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute, one of Uruguay:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Uruguay. The goalkeeper, Joaquin Gayoso, was totally fooled by Piao FC's Reinaldo Carrasqueira, who 30 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Durval Soares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Seco in the 37th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute of the match Piao FC got a corner. Uruguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Reinaldo Carrasqueira ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 47 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Beldad. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Renato Aragão made the kick off in the second half. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 58 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Gaspar Vilas Boas came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute, Alberto Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Piao FC's Renato Aragão in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Uruguay's goalie prevented a goal. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renato Aragão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 67 minutes, Jorge Sainz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Uruguay and the Piao FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato Aragão in the 68th minute of play. Evandro Pinheiro charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evandro Pinheiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 69 played minutes Piao FC got a freekick which was hit by Evandro Pinheiro. In the 72nd minute, Piao FC's Yuri Amaral seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Yuri Amaral the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Piao FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Yuri Amaral had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 76th minute Gaspar Vilas Boas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 77 minutes, Gaspar Vilas Boas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piao FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gaspar Vilas Boas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st match minute, Piao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspar Vilas Boas to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute, Bruno Beldad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Uruguay's Durval Soares threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Maximiliano Escribano, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 91stth minute of the game Gaspar Vilas Boas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Gaspar Vilas Boas put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
