Fastnet's Ulf Löfskog couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 14th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Uruguay. Sören Klintæus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 21st minute of play. Joaquin Gayoso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anthon Finnman went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 25th minute, Anthon Finnman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alfons Gustavsson hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ulf Löfskog was slow to take the kick. During this time Fastnet's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Fastnet's Ulf Löfskog to fire away a dangerous shot which Joaquin Gayoso despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Fastnet's goalkeeper Sören Klintæus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Seco. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per-Olof Tunström in the 44th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Per-Olof Tunström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Francisco Seco made the kick off in the second half. Joaquin Gayoso was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ulf Löfskog. Francisco Seco's late challenge caught a Fastnet's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francisco Seco helped the player get up and apologised. In the 74th minute, Francisco Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Camilo Franco hit a great ball. Sören Klintæus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sören Klintæus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
