A sloppy throw-in by Johan Öman in the 9th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Julian Murillo. In the 10th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baraxil Sarrate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Valentin Voicu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valentin Voicu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 15th minute of play forced VILLARREAL UNITED's goalkeeper Baraxil Sarrate to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 18 minutes of play, VILLARREAL UNITED's Valentin Voicu made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! 22 minutes into the match, VILLARREAL UNITED's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Baraxil Sarrate reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Peru's Eliseo Mina got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 27th match minute, VILLARREAL UNITED was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delmar Campello to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Valentin Voicu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. Valentin Voicu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Baraxil Sarrate made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Luz Tejedor sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Peru's Luz Tejedor slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Baraxil Sarrate. That made the score 2-3 after 38 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valentin Voicu in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. A sloppy throw-in by Johan Öman in the 44th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Alonso Berganza. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. Peru were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after VILLARREAL UNITED's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. Eliseo Mina made a great header on Peru's corner, it was just that VILLARREAL UNITED's Baraxil Sarrate managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentin Voicu in the 53rd minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johan Öman hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Baraxil Sarrate took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentin Voicu in the 59th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valentin Voicu took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. If Bennvar Trollegaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 74 minutes of play, VILLARREAL UNITED's Valentin Voicu made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 79th minute Valentin Voicu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentin Voicu in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquin Prats in the 84th minute of play forced VILLARREAL UNITED's goalkeeper Baraxil Sarrate to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baraxil Sarrate was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Valentin Voicu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. The Peru supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching VILLARREAL UNITED's performance. The match ended with a win for VILLARREAL UNITED.
