The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. Yannick Herzog hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Hieronymus Gilardi successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 76th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Zorita to maneuver through the defense. In the 77th minute, Luca Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lorenzo Hagenbuch in the 78th minute of play. Joel Gaona blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hieronymus Gilardi having to make a save. Hieronymus Gilardi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 85th minute. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hieronymus Gilardi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
