In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Xie Bang Ang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Mina in the 23rd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Florentino Berasko. When Florentino Berasko got free in front of the goal in the 24th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Rolando Noboa was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 33rd match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luz Tejedor to maneuver through the defense. Florentino Berasko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. Xie Bang Ang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Mina, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Milagros Fraga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Xie Bang Ang having to make a save.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Rolando Haimar made a throw-in in the 58th minute of the game. Julian Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xie Bang Ang having to interfere. Xie Bang Ang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 63rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robert Haegg in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Julian Murillo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Xie Bang Ang. That made the score 0-1 in the 65 minute of play. Rolando Haimar made in the 68th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Guaberto Matro. Rolando Haimar kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. With a little luck, ARedonditos de Ricota CFK's Xie Bang Ang got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 76th minute, Peru's Julian Murillo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Xie Bang Ang. Xie Bang Ang yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Emmanuel Reyes made in the 80th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Milagros Fraga immediately put the ball in play. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Robert Haegg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Hugo Chávez in the 86 minute of the game. The supporters of Peru booed when ARedonditos de Ricota CFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjy Muller didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xie Bang Ang made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Rafael Gallo sent off a good shot on target. In the 94th minute Rafael Gallo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xie Bang Ang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
