Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eitautas Ivoška in the 51st minute of the match. 55 minutes into the game, Deimantas Satkus cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ovidijus Merkelis made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. The tension between the Geležinis Vilkas and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mexico made a substitution. Bautista Elvira replaced Joel Gaona. Léo de Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Alberto Tafalla succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-2 in the 95th playminute. When the referee blew the final whistle, Geležinis Vilkas could leave the field as winners, despite Mexico having more of the ball for most of the match.
