After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Deimantas Satkus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Geležinis Vilkas's supporters rose to their feet, but Deimantas Satkus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Lacasa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Deimantas Satkus could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Ovidijus Merkelis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Facundo Cadaval, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ovidijus Merkelis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 29th minute of play. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Geležinis Vilkas's Ovidijus Merkelis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 40th minute of play. Ovidijus Merkelis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Macos Graciani got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Ovidijus Merkelis had great luck who in the 56thth minute grab hold of the ball when Joel Gaona from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 57th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Joel Gaona got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ovidijus Merkelis quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 64 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Deimantas Satkus came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 65th minute of play forced Geležinis Vilkas's goalkeeper Ovidijus Merkelis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ovidijus Merkelis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 71st minute of the match. Ovidijus Merkelis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Rouco got a free kick in the 79th minute. After 80 played minutes Geležinis Vilkas got a freekick which was hit by Gabrielius Velička. Lautaro Mancebo came free with the goalkeeper in the 82nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ovidijus Merkelis could save by the left post. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deimantas Satkus in the 85th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luca Zorita in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ovidijus Merkelis saved Geležinis Vilkas from getting behind. When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Geležinis Vilkas throughout the match.
