The supporters of Red Devils booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Fontirroig didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Zsombor Karsai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 7th minute, Fabien Van Daelen made a precise shot to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, Red Devils's goalkeeper Pál Mester had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Lacasa. After some careless play in the Chile defense, David Villa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. The Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thiago Pliego should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Pál Mester in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zsombor Karsai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Thiago Pliego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mariano Lacasa scored 1-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pál Mester, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th minute, Mariano Lacasa made a precise shot to the right of Pál Mester. Red Devils's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. 29 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Pál Mester, 3-2. Mariano Lacasa's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pál Mester firmly grabbed it by the left post. Fabien Van Daelen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Mariano Lacasa came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Chile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mariano Lacasa couldn't finish the play. 44 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Fabien Van Daelen came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st minute there was a penalty for Chile. Mariano Lacasa stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pál Mester. 4-2. In the 66th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pál Mester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Steffen Gabrielsen kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Villa in the 71st minute of play. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pál Mester read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Károly Baranyai, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 75 minutes into the game, Steffen Gabrielsen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Red Devils's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chile the free kick. Steffen Gabrielsen kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. After 83 minutes of play, Chile's Mariano Lacasa made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pál Mester was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pál Mester read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Pál Mester didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chile. Pál Mester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 91st minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Red Devils's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Pál Mester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 94 played minutes Red Devils got a freekick which was hit by Elek Elek. In the 96th minute, Mariano Lacasa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chile fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Red Devils players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Chile.
