Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Claude Bermudez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agustín Saelices went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Elek Elek hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Red Devils was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elek Elek didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Zsombor Karsai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. A hard shot 25 in the game by Zsombor Karsai from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 27th minute of play forced Red Devils's goalkeeper Claude Bermudez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Red Devils's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Red Devils's Claude Bermudez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute of play. Claude Bermudez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Claude Bermudez. Red Devils's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Claude Bermudez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Red Devils's Fabien Van Daelen got a free kick in the 40th minute. 42 minutes into the game, Camilo Gisbert threw the ball into play from the sideline. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Claude Bermudez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 52nd minute, Zsombor Karsai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Claude Bermudez firmly grabbed it by the left post. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Claude Bermudez however easily saved by the left post. Roland Nagy took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Zsombor Karsai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Red Devils's goalkeeper Claude Bermudez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Claude Bermudez in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Red Devils was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Villa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zsombor Karsai's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. After 78 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. With a little luck, Red Devils's Claude Bermudez got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Claude Bermudez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. Red Devils's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roland Nagy in the 97th minute. The Red Devils fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
