Barhart Costello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pearse McWilliam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the St. James Gate F.C. defense, Sebastian Villa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brigid Rutherford. The St. James Gate F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brigid Rutherford should have stopped the shot. 19 minutes into the match, St. James Gate F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Villa came free, but Brigid Rutherford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Hewney Kirby dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lautaro Navarro, 1-1. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hewney Kirby in the 27th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, St. James Gate F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Brigid Rutherford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Christian Sancho hit a great ball. Pearse McWilliam recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barhart Costello in the 36th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute Barhart Costello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmundo Espiga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Egan McLaughlin made in the 52nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Pearse McWilliam immediately put the ball in play. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barhart Costello in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Honduras's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tipper Savic was slow to take the kick. During this time St. James Gate F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. Brigid Rutherford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute Luca Espinar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brigid Rutherford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute Pearse McWilliam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Sebastian Villa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brigid Rutherford was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. 75 minutes into the match, St. James Gate F.C.'s goalkeeper Brigid Rutherford had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmundo Espiga. Rowland McDecland charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Barhart Costello took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. When Luca Espinar fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Honduras's protests and gave Luca Espinar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 87th minute, Luca Espinar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 90th minute, Barhart Costello left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The St. James Gate F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. A throw-in in the 94th minute of the game was made by Aaron Walker with Pearse McWilliam as target, who quickly passed the ball forward.
