Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 庞辰延 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 尹强震 in the 30th minute of play. 杨翔洲 could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. The supporters of 广州太阳神足球俱乐部 booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Cazalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. If 尹强震 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Through an outstanding action, after 51 minutes, 庞辰延 successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 56th minute, 杨翔洲 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 麦辰然 in the 62nd minute of play.
