With a little luck, Apatit Kirovsk FC's Igor Brattsov got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Innokentiy Balaban came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emil Mikhailov in the 42nd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Apatit Kirovsk FC's Innokentiy Balaban got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute of the match, Patricio Costa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Igor Brattsov saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Semen Rodionov made the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 60 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Igor Brattsov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 66th minute of play. In the 71stth minute of the game Semen Rodionov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Apatit Kirovsk FC's Maksim Osipov was substituted for Vadim Kudryashov. Apatit Kirovsk FC made a substitution. Witold Orling replaced Ilya Trunov. The supporters of Apatit Kirovsk FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Innokentiy Balaban could shoot a difficult shot in the 96th minute, which Jonathan Ferrant however easily saved by the left post. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
