In the 4th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Göran Ekström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 10th minute of the match. With a little luck, Outsiders FC's Göran Ekström got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eliseo Mina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Göran Ekström having to interfere. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paul Prince in the 24th minute of the match. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deljan Nastevski, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Outsiders FC's Göran Ekström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Outsiders FC from getting a goal against them. Julian Murillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eliseo Mina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Göran Ekström having to interfere. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Outsiders FC's goalkeeper Göran Ekström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 40 minutes into the game, Edvard Almkvist threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Peru's Moises Gayoso got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul Prince in the 54th minute of play. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Outsiders FC's goalkeeper Göran Ekström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 64th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Outsiders FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Guaberto Perico sent off a good shot on target. Alexander Svartengren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Göran Ekström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Alexander Svartengren tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guaberto Perico got free with Rolando Noboa in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eliseo Mina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Göran Ekström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. 84 minutes into the match, Outsiders FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Gallo came free, but Göran Ekström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efraim Gilabert to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the game, Rafael Gallo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Göran Ekström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
