But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robertinho Carabajal couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the AFC Koolkerke defense, Mariano Lacasa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ulises Steven. The AFC Koolkerke fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ulises Steven should have stopped the shot. AFC Koolkerke's attentive Christer Sunde managed to snatch the ball when Felix Garrido made a throw-in in the 37th minute of the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Robertinho Carabajal might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thiago Pliego. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ulises Steven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 84th minute of play. Chile's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mariano Lacasa in the 85th minute. A nice corner shot did that Alan Tamayo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ulises Steven quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Mariano Lacasa took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ulises Steven. Ulises Steven dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robertinho Carabajal in the 91st minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the AFC Koolkerke players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Chile.
