Camilo Covarrubias took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bayan Bonzon. Kyoto Sanga F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Archie Balabagan in the 25th minute of play. Kyoto Sanga F.C.'s Bayan Bonzon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 31st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clarence Pumaren in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 35th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bayan Bonzon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the game, Lloyd Santiago threw the ball into play from the sideline. After 82 played minutes, Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bayan Bonzon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Uruguay reached it.
