Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Axel Tasis made the kick off and thus started the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 7th minute of play forced FC Univ. Craiova-Stiinta-'s goalkeeper Nistor Calomfir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC Univ. Craiova-Stiinta-'s zone, Eliseo Noboa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nistor Calomfir came out of the goal and Eliseo Noboa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 14 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Pascu came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Pascu in the 17th minute. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. After 24 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Axel Tasis. In the 25th minute, Florin Busuioc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Axel Tasis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 28th minute. After 33 minutes, Adam Gologan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Univ. Craiova-Stiinta- and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FC Univ. Craiova-Stiinta- getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Adam Gologan hit a great ball. In the 34th minute, Eliseo Noboa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Axel Tasis kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Pascu's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Pascu made a kick off. In the 50th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. In the 51st minute of the match Moise Hârlău shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Pascu in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. In the 59th minute of the match, Axel Tasis got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nistor Calomfir was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 70th minute Aaron Alcocer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nistor Calomfir saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Daniel Pascu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. After 74 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. 76 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Pascu came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nistor Calomfir made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 80th minute. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Pascu in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 87th minute Daniel Pascu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Pascu might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Pascu ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Pascu succeeded in the game's 95th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0.
