The audience thought a goal was coming when Isidoro Sarmiento got free with Márton Gombos in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Miguel Miralles was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 14th minute of play forced Sporting Savaria's goalkeeper Márton Gombos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Sporting Savaria's Márton Gombos got control of the ball when Isidoro Sarmiento tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 17 played minutes, Sporting Savaria's Teuvo Latvanen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sporting Savaria reached it. Márton Gombos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 25th minute of play forced Sporting Savaria's goalkeeper Márton Gombos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th match minute, Sporting Savaria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Csaba Gyulai to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute of the match, Tomas Berganza tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Márton Gombos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento got a free kick in the 28th minute. The audience was convinced that Kálmán Mbappè's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcos Cotilla was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Kálmán Mbappè took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Cotilla. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Márton Gombos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Berganza's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. The supporters of Panama booed when Sporting Savaria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Szilárd Danka didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute, Teuvo Latvanen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting Savaria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 74th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Márton Gombos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Márton Gombos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alajos McAllister in the 80th minute of the match. A collision led to Sporting Savaria getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Csaba Gyulai hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the game, Felipe Ros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Panama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Savaria the free kick. After 86 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Ros. The Panama manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Sporting Savaria to win.
