In the 19th match minute, AD Lidar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinaldo Palha to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Berganza might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Rodas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Berganza ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Calvino Nadal in the 27th minute. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Rodas having to interfere. The supporters of Panama booed when AD Lidar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramiro Álvares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando Rodas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 44th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Calvino Nadal was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calvino Nadal in the 51st minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Jordão in the 52nd minute of the match. The referee ignored Panama's protests and gave Dylan Sarmiento a yellow card for diving instead. In the 88th minute, Panama's Alex Cambeiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fernando Rodas. Fernando Rodas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. In the 91st match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Barrios to maneuver through the defense. After 92 minutes of play, AD Lidar's Calvino Nadal made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcos Cotilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Panama eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
