When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Federico Aimar put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Deuce Athletic Club's Federico Aimar got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Segundo Felo got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After 29 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Aristide Traianescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Aristide Traianescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. Federico Aimar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Federico Aimar struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deuce Athletic Club. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristide Traianescu in the 53rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 54th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Federico Aimar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Federico Aimar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leopoldo Ospin made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Federico Aimar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute, Federico Aimar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Federico Aimar in the 78th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Federico Aimar in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Tomas Illescas scored 3-1 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leopoldo Ospin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Federico Aimar's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Federico Aimar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
